Bf109Ace Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Hi all, After working in FMB and attempting to play the mission, the screen shows the percentage task bar and then a dialog box pops up " Index was outside the bounds of the array" Does anyone know why this is and perhaps a fix for it? Thanks
BENKOE Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Hi Bf109Ace, without additional information, remote diagnosis is quite challenging. Enable the log file if you haven't already. This is done in the conf.ini file in your Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/ folder. [Console] ... ... LOG=1 LOGTIME=1 ... ... LOGFILE=log.txt LOGKEEP=1 This keeps a record of the game operation in a file called: log.txt Open the log file, look at what is there and post it here.
Bf109Ace Posted October 17, 2023 Author Posted October 17, 2023 Hi BENKOE, When I opened the conf.ini file my LOGKEEP=0. I changed it to 1, did not make any difference. [Console] IP=20001 UseStartLog=1 WRAP=1 PAUSE=1 HISTORY=1024 HISTORYCMD=1024 PAGE=20 LOG=1 LOGTIME=1 LOAD=console.cmd SAVE=console.cmd LOGFILE=log.txt LOGKEEP=1 The log.txt file I have attatchedlog.txt Hope this helps
BENKOE Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) Thanks, a first look at the log-file suggests that the mission includes a script that was written exclusively for a campaign mission. I'll get back to you. On 10/17/2023 at 1:31 PM, Bf109Ace said: ... The log.txt file I have attatched log.txt ... Hope this helps Edited October 19, 2023 by BENKOE
BENKOE Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) Hi Bf109Ace, the good news: I don't see any exceptions in the log file that point to technical issues. However, this thread could be something for the subforum "Blitz Missions & Campaigns." If you want to modify existing (older) missions, you should consider that Team Fusion has made a lot of modifications. It wouldn't surprise me if the mission files were written before certain static objects and vehicle waypoints were renamed, changed, or deleted in a later iL2CoD version. (For example, campaigns were affected by erroneous data for the Krupp_L2H43_Protze_Kfz69_Pak35. The bug was fixed with the 5.026 HotFix). In other words, check the mission files for compatibility with the current Blitz! version. If your mission is planned as a campaign file, I strongly recommend saving it in a subfolder within the "<UserDocuments\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign>" directory. Since v5.00, iL2CoD supports user-created campaigns in that folder. Forget about the other folders you can see. Edited October 19, 2023 by BENKOE
Bf109Ace Posted October 21, 2023 Author Posted October 21, 2023 Hi BENKOE, Thanks for the info. Yes, I am aware that some of the older mission files might pose a problem, when modified at some later date, not being compatible with the latest Blitz version. I have often wondered just how much/many of the updates become applicable on older mission files. In this case I am 'updating/ modifying' the old "Spitfire on my Tail" campaign. What I have been doing is copying the mission files from "<UserDocuments\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign>" to "<UserDocuments\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions>" where I can get into the file from FMB. Once modified, the file is copied back to the former address. The interesting bit is the fact that all the mission files [ almost 40 of them ] work fine [ in both subfolders ] except for the one mission [ #30 in this case ] I will have to delete the attributes one at a time to see if any one of them is causing the problem. Thanks again 1
