Patricks Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 With my HP G2v2 I used to switch between SteamVR and OpenComposite using the "OpenComposite Runtime Switcher" to run IL-2 using OpenXR. With the Aero's OpenXR compatibility I have not used the switcher which (just checked) is set to SteamVR. Does IL-2 require the OpenComposite API to be running with the Aero also?
firdimigdi Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Any OpenVR game will require OpenComposite to translate it to OpenXR if you want to use OpenXR. If it is already running in OpenXR even though you've set the switcher to SteamVR then it means there's an openvr_api.dll file from OpenComposite in the game's bin directory (the so-called "per-application installation method"). 1

Patricks Posted October 10, 2023 Author Posted October 10, 2023 Apparently I had installed the openxr api file from GitHub to the IL-2 bin/game folder way back when I got the G2. Thanks for the clarification!
