Hi Gents,

I tried to give these old kites a go. These skins are for squad members of JV44, but I thought I'd share them for suggestions, tips, and critiques. As I do more skins, I'll be updating this thread. Unfortunately, I don't have the space on my media server to share my skins. However, I'll be placing them, as I finish each one, on Haluter's Skin Downloader.

 

 

I do have a question concerning the DV. I've notice that every support spar is stamped with for example, "L Albatros DV". I've looked through the layers and I can't find this stencil. I'm using the official, public DV skin found within these forums. Can anyone help me correct this issue?

PS, please correct me if the stencils are historical correct. I've just never seen any photos w/ this stenciling.

I had some free time today, so I did a quick DR1 skin for JV44. Without messing around w/ the alpha, skinning planes is a piece of cake (so far), as compared to skinning tanks. Well, at least for me

 

I'll follow up this skin with black, and then, white versions of the red one pictured.

I have a question that other skinners might be able to answer. Does anyone know if you can skin the ribbon/scarf that is attached to the plane? I'm guessing not in the conventional sense. I'm guessing that would have to be done as a mod?
