Team Fusion FG28Artist Posted October 4, 2023 Team Fusion Posted October 4, 2023 Greetings Pilots, this is a rather large download (~9GB) - but it's not a big update: Just a few nice fixes on various aircraft's systems and gauges. The big download size stems from the fact that we discovered a corruption in the packed game data. In consquence we had to repack all of it and you now have to download all of it. On the bright side this also means that the next updates will be much smaller in size than what we got used to in the past year. *** Fix: Gladiator Turn needle now moves correctly. [MicroWave]*** Fix: Bf-109 F all subvariants: Invisible radiator grilles made visible. [MicroWave]*** Fix: Macchi C.202 all pits: Superfluous fuel gauge removed. [MicroWave]*** Fix: Ju-88 A-1 bombardier pit: Bombsight side slip now works. [MicroWave]*** Fix: Wellington Ic Late bombardier pit: Allowing forward movement of the collimator on the Mk XIV bombsight. [MicroWave]*** Fix: He-111 P-2 pilot pit: Repeater compass now shows correct values. [MicroWave]*** Fix: Italian planes no-cockpit view [CTRL][F1]: Compass now shows correct heading. [MicroWave]*** Fix: Italian fighters pits: Compass markings corrected to historical. [MicroWave]*** Update: Getting Started and Troubleshooting Guide - Czech.pdf [Localisation Team] Note: Quote A bug was found with this update: The English Channel 1940 Autumn map has been flooded and is all unter water now. As none of us has been working on it, this must be a side effect of another change. We're investigating. If you want to play a mission which is using the autum map, either wait until we've fixed this - or open the .mis file with a text/code editor and replace MAP Land$English_Channel_1940_Autumn with MAP Land$English_Channel_1940 and it'll run ok. 10 6
5th_Barone Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Hi Artist, thanks for the update nice to see patches coming out! Just a question regarding *** Fix: Macchi C.202 all pits: Superfluous fuel gauge removed. I see the "scale style" fuel gauge has been removed instead of the round Lodrini fuel gauge. As far as I know the "scale" gauge was present in any version while the standard round one was only from later Serie we don't have in game. See some examples: Extract from manual of Serie I,II,III,IV,VIII: the round gauge is not present Instead from a manual of Serie IX and XI (which we don't have in-game): the round Lodrini gauge is there Also from a picture of the same manual you can see that the "scale" is present. So both are there. May you please explain the reason of the change? Just to understand it ? I'll keep doing some researches to see if I can find something different, thank you in advance 2
Bert_Foster Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) Research of many MC202 manuals indicates that the Lodrini fuel gauge on the Dash is only used by aircraft manufactured by Aermacchi. There is a direct statement to this effect in the MC202 parts manual. This then implies that the Telelevel gauge on the right side wall is only on those aircraft manufactured by the other companies ... BREDA, SAI Ambrosni The versions in game are Series III and Series VII. According to references (Maurizio Di Terliizzi's book) these were produced by Aermacchi, therefore should have the gauge on the instrument panel and without the Analog Telelevel tape on the right cockpit wall.. Yet to see a single cockpit picture that shows a MC202 with BOTH gauges fitted. i.e. in a single frame. Be happy to be corrected. Edited October 4, 2023 by Bert_Foster 5 1
5th_Hellrider Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) I found that in Macchi manuals, I don't know if it can be useful. Edited October 5, 2023 by 5th_Hellrider 2
5th_Hellrider Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) PS: the manual says that the Lodrini indicator replaced the Televel, so only one of the two was present in the cockpit. I think Serie III still had Televel, and Serie VII instead had the Lodrini. In any case, this is a particular modification, as it is found in "Aggiunte e Varianti" (Additions and Variants) section. Bert_Foster Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Thats a good find Hellrider . Kind of the missing link as it says this started with MM9023 which was the first of the Series VII built by Aermacchi. 1
5th_Barone Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) Well so if this started from 9023 the serie III, should still have the televel "scale style" indicator and no Lodrini one. So in other words what we have is wrong in game. That could also explain why in the Serie III manual the Lodrini is missing but so not explain why in the IX and XI manual the picture of the televel is present. Pictures of the cockpit would be needed in order to better understand. I'll still search to see if I can find anything. Should also be mention the fact that being the macchi almost an "handmade plane" could have been a mix of things. It's not uncommon to see planes with replaced different parts (e.g. an Aermacchi airframe with a Breda o SAI Wing) so they could have been mixed on the field. And that could explain why the later manual mention both. Edited October 5, 2023 by 5th_Barone 2
