One of my favorite things to do in IL-2 is fly my P-38 against the "Japanese." LA-5's and Macchis in faux Japanese markings, of course. Using that excellent map that looks just like New Guinea. But no Japanese bombers. The JU-88 painted as a Betty just doesn't do it. Would any skinner, out there, be willing to paint the B-26 as a Mitsubishi Betty? I'm probably the only one who wants this, so I understand if it doesn't get done. I'm fascinated with the air war in the Pacific. As a matter of fact, I'm in the middle of a terrific book called "The Race of the Aces," by John Bruning. It's all about the wild air battles over New Guinea as Bong, McGuire, Johnson, MacDonald and Kearby all fought it out to be the top American ace in the Pacific, and maybe of the entire war. Reads like novel! Anyway, thanks for reading.

The 1943 film named "A Guy Named Joe" featured B-26s painted to look like Bettys. They made a good stand in. There is a pretty good aerial sequence with early model P-38s intercepting the movie Bettys. It's a good film. Maybe a little too sappy for today's audience but I enjoyed it. As I'm sure many know, this film was remade in 1989 as "Always" featuring the B-26 Invader.
