Does anyone know what the power bundle accessory is that is being offered by Meta for the Quest 3?

I will only be using in stand alone mode, never for PC-VR.

Is it worth the extra money when using for only stand alone? Their website does a poor job of explaining what it entails.

 

Edit: Ok think I finally found it in Amazon's description, apparently power bundle is with elite strap and battery. As I will be using it solely for stand alone games, think I would be wise to splurge and get this. Meta could use some help on their descriptions on their website.

Ok final hurdle has been overcome. My lovely finance officer has totally approved the purchase. I am a lucky guy.  

Placing order now for Meta Quest 3 Power Bundle (includes Elite Strap and Battery Pack).

 

Meta - God help me. Oh well at least I will only be using it in Stand Alone Mode, as I use my Aero for my PC-VR.  Occasionally my Index for some MechWarrior 5 VR action.

I think I will enjoy it and looking forward to Asgard's Wrath 2 for it later in the year. Thankfully no Meta Software will reside on my PC.

 

 

 

Ok Amazon says I will have the headset on Oct 12th.

Power Pack and Elite Strap delivery date to be determined.

So, according to GGodin, the creator of Virtual Dekstop, the deciding limit of the XR2 Gen 2 is 200 mbit both for h.265 as well as AV1 as opposed to the Gen 1's 150 mbit for h.265.

I'm considering buying Q3, after almost one year without hmd, make it 2 because it was gathering  the dust year before. For sure I would like to see il2 reviews.

That´s a wise choice. But, just for curiosity you might wonder how IL-2 looks with the Quest3?

For the same bitrate, yes I see less compression artefacts. But the biggest improvement is how consistent it is with its bitrate; this makes the video stream less bursty so it smoothes out the experience a ton!

 

It looks like we will need a 40xx series card to get the best of the Quest3.... so coiches are to go for 4080 or 4090 or wait for 4080Ti.  Any rumours about the 4080Ti?

Nah not likely. I have no reason or intention to install the software on my PC.

I'll have to make do with the h.265 codec as I "only" have a 3080TI,

been thinking of selling it and getting the 4070TI for AV1, but then again,

the 4070 TI has issues above 4K which gaming in VR kinda requires.

 

Though I doubt you'd need anything more advanced than a regular 4080,

from what I gather only the Pimax Crystal needs more horsepower.

I tried everything & got a lot of advice but could not fix dark value in GB and CloD and alas will have to go back to ReverbG2.Too bad it is a very nice VR addition.
