Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted September 30, 2023 Team Fusion Posted September 30, 2023 Hello The next aircraft we can reveal is the Fairey Swordfish. This is in an early building state, and is unlikely to be included in TF 6.0 as player flyable. In fact the AI flown version may be delayed past the release date and added in a later update patch to TF 6.0. This aircraft played a tragic but heroic part in the 'Channel Dash'/'Operation Cerberus'. It is also an aircraft which will play a significant part in a later TF module... so it will eventually be flyable... just maybe not for TF 6.0. We had thought the aircraft would be included for the release, but as is sometimes the case with the nature of TF's membership, the modeler found he had other real life commitments and had to reduce the time he could allot to the project. We are planning to create a complement of British Fleet Air Arm aircraft... some of the planned aircraft are already in the game in variant form, but need to be made Carrier capable with deck arrester hooks added and in some cases be given folding wings. Some need to have armament changed and/or different engines and propellors. So for example, the Sea Gladiator, the Sea Hurricane IA/IB, the Martlet Mk II are already in the game in land based variant form. (only the Martlet had folding wings in its naval version) Obviously this means yes, we are planning to introduce Carriers. We have already tested flight operations off simple model carriers, and the game is more than capable. We will also be creating an all sea North Atlantic map. (very simple to do) once we get these aircraft ready. This could be used in a Bismarck scenario. We also have new more complex maps in advanced planning or in the Alpha game which have both land and sea areas... and where naval/air or naval/naval conflict occurred.
