Customizer171 Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Why do I get shot down by anti aircraft fire when I am flying an allied aircraft over England?? This is in a quick mission. I don't experience this when I fly a German plane over Normandy.

Luckily I am not French or I might have been offended, lol. Strange that it hasn't happened over German occupied territory when I fly a German aircraft. I only experienced it when flying allied aircrafts over England 2 hours ago, CountZero said: ITs quick mission, it works as its ment to work, select advanced QM if you wont more historical engagment... its funny how ppl had no problems flying P-51 over Stalingrad, but god forbid axis flak is in some random farm in south england lol Strange that it hasn't happened over German occupied territory when I fly a German aircraft. You takeoff and everyone around wants to kill you or not to be killed by you.

I guess I must have been lucky then when flying German aircrafts over Normandy. Thanks for the explanation. Although it would make more sense if you were safe from flak when flying over England in an allied aircraft, since England was never occupied by Germany. It is what it is, but now I know ?
Zooropa_Fly Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 If you had to cross the Channel for some action it wouldn't be a quick mission ?
DocDocbruno Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 (edited) I (my 109) was shot down while chasing a Yak directly over the Pitomkin airfield. The bastard was in my sights and about to die when my wing was blown off. I bailed. There were no other Russians around. Edited September 29, 2023 by DocDocbruno
R33GZ Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Use the AQM preset missions... or turn flak off in the QM mission if that is what you really want to fly 1 1
czech693 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 (edited) If you select the targets in a Quick Mission and one of them is AAA or ships, they will shoot at you as they are targets, ie. enemy. If you don't select them there will be no flak, not even from a train. Edited September 30, 2023 by czech693 1
IckyATLAS Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Since Brexit they shoot anything flying from the continent. Ah yes I forget, this was 80 years ago. Yeah, the fundamentals are the same. Whatever comes from the continent is dangerous. Shoot first check later ? 2
