Default skin removal

Hi,

 

Does anyone know the way to remove some of the skins that come with a module by default?

I'd specifically like to get rid of Yak-1b's "Free Donbass" and "Lugansky" from the skins list.

You can't remove them as they are imbedded in the sim.  You can replace them by naming two other skins with the same names, which are:

 

yak1s127_skin_07.dds

yak1s127_skin_08.dds

 

Pick a couple of the custom skins or artist skins and give them these names and put them in data/graphics/skins/yak1s127 folder.

 

However, the picture and name in the setup menu of the official skins screen will stay the same. I haven't found any way to change those.

 

If you want your replacement skins to use tactical codes you need to make a couple changes in the swf/il2/worldobjects/planes/yak1s127 file/info.txt file.  A copy is attached if you don't have the necessary .gtp files unpacked.  Change would be to delete the 1 following the skin name.  That's is there to prevent the tac codes from overwriting the original skin.

You can also delete the skins details from the skins.tab.eng file found here;

 

\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins

you will need to unGTP the scripts.gtp file to access it, open file with a text editor and navigate down to the Yak-1 ser.127 skins section and delete the two rows pertaining to those skins.

 

this will remove them from the official list of skins available and move them into the custom selection list.
