Guest deleted@219798 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) In the skin selection panel for the N17 the Escadrille 103 version shows red stars on the fuselage sides, yet when the plane is loaded into the mission the stars are gone. The red star marking would seem to be correct for Nieuport 17 and early Spads of Esc 103. So why have the stars been removed? Edited September 25, 2023 by kestrel444x500
1CGS LukeFF Posted September 25, 2023 1CGS Posted September 25, 2023 @kestrel444x500, per the QA team, the removal of the stars is correct, but the preview image just wasn't updated.
Guest deleted@219798 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 If the N11 skin is representing an Escadrille 103 default scheme the red stars are correct. A French military aviation website used as reference by Gooseh for his skins states that the red star was used at least until the end of 1916. The stork emblem replaced it in the 1st quarter of 1917.

Are there any photos of a Nieuport 17 on that page showing the star? I know the page you speak of and I had a glance there, but I didn't see any photos of Nieuport 17s on it.
Guest deleted@219798 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 No there aren't any photos there as it mostly reference material, but it seems that the star according to that site was standard.
