…you can compare to the graph from SteamDB that JG27_Abaster posted before:

Not so much.

We would never have trust in the new game if they abandoned old.

Well , that was the case with Rise of Flight, since BOS came out. The statement was that new technologies developed for BOS would benefit also ROF but that not happened. Fortunetly for us they move ROF to FC but we need to pay again.

Haha, now I know that in addition to aviation and racing you also like fishing (with bait).

Spoiler

Anyway, if someone wants to compare the graph that JG27_Abaster posted to the textbook graph, here they are on top of each other.

I am so much looking forward to Korea with no carriers... Oh, wait

Yeah.. I'd really put my money into a market where I rely on the historic refusal of the competitor to make a meaningful combination of mostly existing assets.

Holy crap. This is available?

VSN have a stable of flyable mods for DCS... As well as the Panther, they do the F-80 and F-84 for Korea if I'm not mistaken.

I respect those making mods. I really do. But I had enough of those mods with placeholder pits in old IL 2.
besides not many mods survive a patch or two and the risk of messing up campaigns are pretty high.
I got the A 4 and c 130 mod. They seem to be updated

Does it come with USS Essex or is that separate (searched but didn't see info)? Looked awesome (aside from those dodgy single 5" turrets astride the island?). I'm not a big fan of DCS but still, fake cockpit or not, I'd be down for flying Panthers on/off Essex.

I haven't used this mod yet myself, so I don't know specifics.

As per info in teaser YT vid, this Essex is still internal WIP mod by Markindel, to be released at some point in the future.

Frankly speaking, I really don't understand what the last 5-6 posts have to do with the current or the coming development of IL-2. However, I hope that they will survive tomorrow with the reference to DxS. ?

Be careful, I bet on a moderation. He´s coming....

You two guys haven't got it yet and I personally don't see myself as Lucky Luke.  Others will do that, we'll see what happens ;)

Have fun in the meanwhile.

Interesting..  those sure look like WW2 stars and bars. And I see japanese kill markings.   Looks to me like an earlier version than what flew in KOREA.   But I'm no expert..  The Korean conflict corsairs I'm familiar with have national insignia that look like this..   But id bet there were probably different insignia used at different times during the conflict. image.png.c27f315dad0d6bfeb23777be01efb207.png

And I thought the Korean era planes had less framing on the canopy?    And I see Japanese kill markings on the fuselage.   The article referenced where the photo was apparently borrowed,  refers to various battles from WW2,  to 1969 soccer war.  It would appear the photo Gambit has shared is a WW2 photo..

Which is cool.  And I'm also hoping we see marine corsairs from the Solomons in WW2 as a future module..

You seem confused?  The corsair in your photo,  appears to be a WW2 issued aircraft.   Was that not intentional?

I just posted a picture of a pretty Corsair - no idea beyond that. Good eye though. ;)

Hey Mitchell, goofing off aside, you should read the “South Pacific Air War” series by Claringbould/Ingman if you haven’t already. You’d enjoy them, and a good fix…and also makes it harder to wait. ;)

F4U-1, as it appears to me. I gather in Korea, F4U-5's were used? Four bladed prop and cannons (plus internal differences). If it was Korea, then Mr. Group Commander had an old kite as a hack... But if It is Korea, then this engine modification would make sense. Remember the Fokker D7 we have in FC... ^^

According to Wikimedia it is a F3A-1 (Brewster built Corsair) of Marine Air Group 91, pictured in 1945.

So Gambit has been throwing us off the correct path all of this time, it's not Korea. It is the Pacific and will certainly include carriers. Gambit, you sorry dog!

Nice catch. Not a nice airplane though, even if it would be a nice challenge to fly if they decide to model random faults and production defects (a long standing dream of mine, also very useful for late war Japanese products).

?

I very much think it’s Korea but would be much happier with CBI (since PTO is out)

Aside from other big factors, trying to take on Japanese aircraft on top of everything else that’s on their plate - too much risk factor, unknowns, research burden etc.

With Korea I imagine that they’d return and add carriers later after the appropriate tech is developed. So I think those concerns will be assuaged at some point.

The MiG 15 really is a neat airplane - there’s just something about it. Beautiful, but mean looking…not push-buttony…big gun. A long time favorite. F-86 vs MiG 15 alone is a big draw I think.

For me still just a side-show while I wait for PTO etc.

I saw the Planes of Fame (flyable) MiG-15 last Saturday while there to see the Mosquito. Awesome plane and it's a likely Korea War vet, in largely as-built condition:

Very clever, posting a Mig15, thinking we’re all going to jump to the same conclusion, you can’t fool us that easily…we all know your cunning plans…now I wonder why you were there to look at a mossie??? ?

The collection of aircraft at Planes of Fame is legendary, and as I hadn't been there in years, I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to get photos of as many planes as I could.
