Lets hope we're not. At the moment every is going according to the plan.   Only fear we have - the new GUI development. While Scale Form API is dead for 6 years allready - its become impossible to find developers for it. So evolution of current GUI have stuck. "Marshall sad story" - one of the cosequences of that. Last year we have took decision which should be taken several years ago - to develop new IL-2 GUI using another API from the scratch to allow IL-2 gamedesign to evo

While IL2 is focused on prop planes, we have made may be the one of the best steps in tank combat simulation as side-project.   So... I am not hinting at anything, but there are no principal limitations or barriers in our game engine and graphics engine to evolve it for something like "F-35 versus Su-57" or "Wings over Vietnam", or even for round-world modelling, or riding your Harley to the airbase and walking around your plane and checking its insides, talking to technicans, and othe

We should have 1st plane in the project to make fair statements about what project will contain. Initial idea - to announce it and tell about details long later - we disliked it after some thinking. Plus, now, we have an external example, when you announcing something when you have nothing in your hands - it will not statisfy the community. Community will ask "so... and what? what next? what exactly you will do?". And you have no answers which are sure by yourself. As I've said before - many tec

Yes and No. We started development of all airplanes. Yes. Already a nice Macchi C.200 since it shared a lot with the 202 which is already present in the game, just cut off the cowl, remove the propeller spinner, make a change here and there... and the C.200 is ready. It would be great to riddle the polikarpovs with peas...??

That is a Fiat G.50 I'm pretty sure.  The Finns didn't have MC.200s.

For some reason unknown to men, those bulges made Macchi cooler.

Yes and thats only italian airplane that have any chance to get made in this game, not mc200 or mc205 or g55, but fins g.50

Fair enough.   I understand some want a non WW2 theater,  something that includes jets.  Others don't.

It is kind of not helping. This won’t affect any decision making among the devs. 
If they set their mind on Korea it will be Korea. Late East front then it will be late east front. 
I am not thrilled about either. I feel not going for Italy is a big mistake or a lost opportunity. Where they going after this long silence is going to be important. 
But I kind of lost interest

Agreed.   I'm still hoping they add more WW1, WW2 content.   But in the end its up to them.

2 jets per ac.

 

No 4 engine bombers for WW2 though.

 

Plenty of props in Korea, including helicopters.  :)

Nothing to get any knickers in a twist about... and yes, I think many have weeks ago come to the same conclusion... they don't really care anymore, and that's my stance as well.

When the new project turns up, if it interests me I'll buy it, if not I'll move on and see what comes next, no drama.

Pretty sure he means that he’ll buy anything they’re selling as long as he finds it interesting.  Same as me.  My “want” is either North Africa or Italy, but I’ll definitely buy Korea if it has the Sabre and Mig-15.

I already spelled out a long time ago the compelling, and publicly available info as to why I'd say Korea.

Yet you still seem baffled.  Do these multiple observations considered together mean I'm correct? No. 

Would I be happier to be wrong and find out it's CBI or PTO? Absolutely. 

Do I think that's likely? No.

Was done with the "What do I think they will do" discussion weeks ago, and was simply stating what i "was hoping" they will do.   Apparently you were baffled by that even though I clearly stated it was what "I was hoping for".  Not planing, predicting, or anything even close.  Hoping for..  

 

But since you ask.  I don't think it's Korea.  Just a guess based upon sketchy comments they have made previously.

When I think about what will the next installment of an iconic WW2,   propeller based aircraft simulator be, I immediately think ....???  Must be Korea....   ?

 

I believe they have ruled out the PTO, stated no carriers,  and  have indicated it will be a new map, and a theater they have not done yet.  Also some conflicting comments regarding compatibility with previous modules. Purposely vague and imo, rather impossible to predict where they are going.  Sure Korea is possible,   but in that line of thought I suppose so is Nam.   However,  considering it is a next module (is it?) of an iconic, WW2,  propeller centric simulation,  IMO,  those seem unlikely.
