People telling stories on the internet are not nearly as reliable as statistical data.

I would say that would depend equally on the people telling stories as much as the people doing said statistcs.

I think at this point this topic has rivaled some of the legendary ones on SimHQ for all the twists and turns it has taken. ?

Oh, and :coffee:

In general, probably yes.  But Macnamara, a statistician, thought the Vietnam War was being won as long as the body counts were high.  It doesn’t always work that way.  I’m not as inclined as you are to simply discount what people are saying.  It depends.

Vietnam War

I never did understand the willingness to sacrifice so many lives fighting in the jungle where Vietcong was so at home.
And with all those resources never taking the war north.

Oh my God my life sucks.  I’m sitting here watching an episode of Threes Company from 1979, and am at the bottom of a pint of Voodoo Ranger, reading this thread.  Couldn’t I have done better in my life, universe?

I might have to go and fly a Strike Eagle to put me right again.

Where were we, Oh yeah, trim on a slider while doing an owl neck helicoptered back flip with full flaps.

Say Luke, can you share any details on the 2024 road map?  Ie..similar to what was shared for the 2023 timeline?  (For the current game that is)

Hopefully I can be indulged this complete deviation from the subject, but Lusekofte started it.  I had my first inkling into why things might have happened as they did was when I read the book “The Ugly American”,  by Lederer and Burdick.  Don’t quote me on this because I read it 30 years ago, but if I recall, The “Ugly American” is actually the hero of the story because he is a farm boy, who can teach new methods of raising chickens, and building water pumps, whereas the knowitalls want to build power dams, and first world things, without any understanding of the culture.   There is a whole lot more to the understanding some of the mindsets during the Vietnam War than that obviously, and I can’t figure it out myself, but in my opinion, it might be a good start to understanding why some things happened as they did.

For a good time, start making your way through Andy Griffith...still holds up!

Now that you mention it, and with Three’s Company Too, Barney Fife kind of reminds me of a certain guy in this thread who is constantly posting a coffee mug emoji.

As I am aware right now, in no particular order:

  • I-153
  • Spitfire IXc
  • Ta 152
  • Flying Circus Volume IV

Of those, the Spitfire IXc is likely the first one coming, but that can of course change.

Gotta love the FC IV thing… but need float planes.

I’ll pay for a 5 plane (at least) pack.

Float planes have been ignored for too long - goes for WWII as well.

The Sopwith Baby if I'm not mistaken. But we'd also need a channel map, and neither that or the Baby are on the roadmap. SAD!

It will be Operation Bagration in Belorus and Balticum 1944. You can be sure, as I read this this morning in my tea leaves! ?

Why?

  • IL-2 remains in the ww2 era
  • Liberation of "russian" soil from nacism
  • Prob based planes
  • Upgrade of the russian planes to the year 1944
  • Good avoidance of big cities is possible i.e. Minsk, Warsaw
  • No carriers needed
  • Double Dip with Tank Crew II

Now counter my tea leaves! ?

I have no longer oversight about people’s wishes and what they do not want.
If I ever had.
But to me it seems like going east front again is not what the majority want.
Personally I can very much go for early war east. Or north front or Winterwar.
I think, albeit not my favorite Korea would be more popular

Korea is understandable for an audience from the West Hemisphere in particular from the US.

However, take into account that it is a Moscow based producer that also serves a Russian or Eastern European audiences. Besides, I doubt whether the bubble here is also shared by https://il2sturmovik.ru/.

Time will tell. After all, it's out of our hands anyway.

Yes definitely out of our hands. For me the new improved game got to involve a lot of improvements. If it does I really do not care if it is a remaster of Battle of Stalingrad

You are going to be so disappointed when that doesn't happen...

No, not really. I'm long past being disappointed in a computer game.

Didn´t mentioned my hopes and wishes, but what sounds reasonable at least for me.... Frankly, I wanted Italy 1943, but that's been out since November last year.

LMAO ???

Just joking around with you Sir.

I wanted Italy also and cannot for the life of me understand why one of these Devs have not produced it.  Italy is a cash cow ? just waiting to be milked.

As far as I remember they told us, that Italy map is so difficult to produce because of all the mountains and small villages. ?

Please correct if I´m mistaken.

Hi Luke, are you sure it is Flying Circus volume IV?

Based on the previous update you posted, it looked like it was just six remaining land planes from Rise of Flight (leaving out the two Russian ones and the float/seaplanes) released as individual 'collector aircraft'.

Of course, I'd love an FC.IV (with a Channel map, and the naval planes included) - but I thought that had been ruled out? At least for the foreseeable future.

Noticed somewhere the remaining planes were listed as collector planes as well.

If you consider the tea plant as partial  thinking, then it could possibly draw logical deductions. As written before, I read it today in the tea infusion and I have no diagnosed perceptual disorder. I checked again, the tea package has not yet exceeded the best-before date. ?

You gotta try Zavarka (заварка), the traditional Russian tea! Just think about the CO2 footprint for the transport of tea from Burma!

Hello Pilots!!!

this morning after drinking my first espresso I looked at the bottom of the cup and saw a map in the shape of a boot, above it there were things fluttering that had a very strong resemblance to Fiat G55s, Messerschmitt 109 G10 Erlas, Spitfire Mk VIIIs and some A-36 Apache, therefore, DEFINATELY not Korea, be sure !

Hey! Yes, good points. ? It's just my assumption that is what it will be called, but we'll see. I don't know at this point if the Channel map is going to be brought over.

Well that explain my dislike for tea. My wife say I am an old homophonic grumphy excuse of a man not touching it.
I gonna tell her my real reason for not drinking it. As soon as she move away from heavy kitchenware and knives
