There‘s just nothing like war in neutral countries.

Well, while the peace loving and strictly neutral jets of SAAB may never grace Il-2, any other missile armed variants will do. Just imagine the possibilities: A whole new class of FM's to moan about on the forums!

What makes a man neutral? A lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?

The opinion of the others. If they think he is - or they want him to be - neutral, he is. Only that. Same with being pretty or not.

Nobody really cares what you want unfortunately. They care for what they want.

Guys: Neutrality is easy: Either do as the Swiss today: Surround yourself with a buffer zone of friendlies so no one can get to you without stepping on somebody's toes. Or like Swedes in WW2: Sit on the fence until you see how things pan out: If one side look like winners, sell them ball bearing and steel, and allow the transit of a whole division of troops, no questions asked. But if they run on hard times, then do a 180 and profess you were always on the side of the good guys!

That may be so. But N is the best starting position. I mean until you know if you want to shift to D or R......

Let's summarize it again, 22 pages full of no information

The year 2023 is, from the informative point if view, the worst in the il2 history

But we have announcements and interviews from other Sim companies that keeps me busy and happy.

I like to read development news, article's and blogs. The world is f*** up at the moment and the news are full with very negative stuff.

But development news and articles are keeping me positive in my mood, with something too look forward to.

2023 is done for me with il2..

Neutral is boring. Boring boring boring.
so is pretty neutral

What keeps this topic going is people that is opposite of neutral but + and + get to be -

Or was it -+- that got to be +

anyway not being neutral can be boring  too.

Tough crowd. Who'd wanna be a flight sim developer? whine about no dd's and then when they come regular like, the whining continues. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

You even fly the MiG, bro??

Ah yes, the MiG-15. A beautiful aircraft. The product of some of the worlds best design teams. Airframe by Soviets, based in part on German research. Engine by the British (who probably shouldn't have been helping, with hindsight) Cockpit layout by captured German U-Boat designers, who were to go on to achieve greater things in the MiG-21, where they almost entirely succeeded in their long-planned objective of substituting plumbing for visibility, and building a single-seat cockpit that clearly needed a crew of six to operate....

Seems Gambit knows something and if it is Korea, and jets I am not sure I will be part of the game.

One exception would be if we have propeller planes like Corsairs and Aircraft carriers. But if it is all jets on land then I prefer to bow out.

For me it is piston engines and propellers and nothing else. I know I am stuck in time but so it is.

And Reno races are gone as the Reno racing airfield will be destroyed to be replaced by property developers I suppose.

They were fighting for years to grab that land and now they finally will do it.

I am happy that I was there to see all the races and the Golden unlimited screaming piston racers.

The whine of jet engines is not for me.

It is time I come back to my past hobbies. I just restarted flying RC model airplanes after a 25 years pause.

For the time being a P51D and a Draco. I am also working on a big Lysander for this winter period.

Here a few pics:

It flies extremely well.

It has also drop tanks that can be added. But for maximum speed I took them out.

I won’t bother to lie. Whatever next I buy it. Just out of curiosity.
I won’t deem Korea south and down under

I won’t make a principal point of it. But I will be a little disappointed, but I get over it

I'm quite enthusiastic about the idea of Korea because, essentially, it matches just two planes for combat and it is very much a rock/scissors/paper scenario (at least from what I understood from my research when I was mastering the DCS Mig). For me at least that'll make online combat a thing again as there would be hugely fewer variables available from an extensive plane-set to be gamed. Yes, there are a lot of piston-planes that were used in Korea but the jet pilots don't have much to worry about from them. :)

Nooooooooo! Reno is/was? on my bucket list. That's gutting news. So no more races at all? They haven't changed to a new location. Reno is like air porn mecca in my mind ?

Sweet looking Mustang too mate... I especially like the subtle dig about drop tanks as well lol

They are trying to move the races to Las Vegas. We will see if it works. Personally I have my brother family in Las Vegas so if it moves there it will be easier for me. But Reno was the dream spot in my young age.

True but still some Migs got shot down by piston fighters if I remember well.

At least if we have the F4U Corsair, and the F51-D Mustangs. with a carrier battle group, with the Boxer carrier as an example that had the Corsairs, BOK could have an appeal to jet lovers and piston fighter ones in ground support and interdiction missions. The map and the time period  of the war will be very important as it must cover Sea and land.

It should be timed at the beginning of the action when North Korea pushed South Korea down to the bottom of the peninsula when the UN Forces speared by US Navy started to push back. It is there that you had air, sea and land operations. It was the very beginning of jets and you had this mix of jet and propeller aircraft.

I can vote for that.

True but this is not a reason for me to forgo what I would like to have. My wish is what it is.

We will see with what comes if there is a match between me and the future sim.

And a match it may be between the:

1) V12 piston engine that is made like a heart, it pulsates, has metallic coronary valves, and tubing that bring nice oxygenated blood (150 Octane fuel) and then pumps  the energy to the plane. It vibrates is alive.

2) The Jet turbine that whines flat, and is more like an open mouth that gobbles air and then farts it straight away from its large opened ass at its back.*

* I agree I am a little hard here but it is for the visual fun.

What do you prefer between these two visions?

Korean war lasted for 3 years... the war had various phases. Aircraft, and there is a lot more than ''it's just Migs and Sabres'' BS being touted by a few.

It's only 5 years after WWII... there may be jets, but there are some stunning props action to be had with fighters and ground attack types at the peak of prop aviation.

There is no way the dev's will be able to fit all the aircraft that took part into the initial conflict.

Also, aircraft taking part got major updates into different variants over that 3 year period.

Why people are talking about ''leaving the game if it's Korea'' is beyond me... you actually get the best of both worlds, props and jets, and the early jets are not like the BVR and fire and forget modern types today... faster but still cannon and guns ruled the skies.

If it turns out not to be Korea, I'm not going to throw my teddy in the corner and leave... if it's something I'm interested in I'll buy it... if not, I won't, but I won't throw GB into the trash can, I'll wait till something gets my interest again... (but it will be Korea ?)

Weren’t there ground based Marine squadrons flying the Corsairs and Skyraiders in Korea? I agree with Trooper. There are a lot possibilities with Korean based maps.
