However you got that German Flak halftrack if you have TC as well.

You don't need TC, as it is, like the Russian AA truck, a collectors vehicle.

Aren't you guys tired of going around in circles yet? This thread has been going for almost a month and we're not any closer to actually knowing what the new project is, aside from the few who are convinced they know what it is and everyone else is wrong ? (and who have to insist on saying as much every single time its brought up)

Seriously, don't you guys have jobs, or other hobbies?

La-11 are really lovely! The new nose and increased fuel capacity makes them really interesting aicraft. Luckly for the B-29s, they weren't so good up there.

Soviet Invasion of Manchuria in 45, (IL2 transforms into an IL10) or CBI? I'm all out of G.A.S. for anything coming from this developer. Without Carriers, and carrier planes, there is no appeal to a Korean map, and it seems a bit much for them to bite off at this point. Ditching, bailing out into the Sea, and dropping torpedoes, we're told is impossible in this engine, or so it seems from the dialog we got. I'm jaded to think they will make it into this new game. And when you can't find people to code basic functions, yer screwed. At this point in time I have no intention of pre-ordering this new iteration of IL2, and with all the badges under my Tag, I probably should have guarded my funds more carefully. I don't play FC or TC, never have, nor will I purchase any more expansions. Waste of disc space really. RAM costs money.

After a major loss in my family, and taking a look at what's important, and what is not, this game/sim is on the back burner now.

But I have to admit, it's entertaining to read the forums when I'm I need a laugh...:popcorm: But, I stopped hoping for honest discourse a long time ago.

I am glad Luke reached out to an old skinner friend of yours and mine and got him back from making DCS skins to fixing the templates of the new planes. He had also lost faith and trust in the powers that be.

Yeah, but that tail… Kurt Tank didn’t get that one on the first try. Oops.

You're conflating two separate issues - the theme of the next "project" and whether or not it's a new game.

No-one disputes that they're creating (among other stuff) a new UI. It's one of the few things they *did* announce.

Neither does anyone dispute that building a new UI is a huge amount of work and takes a long time.

However whether this will be done in a new game or in a separate one remains to be seen. Given that they are building new AI, a new UI engine, and other difficult stuff, it'd take a huge amount of time regardless so the fact that it takes a long time can't be used as an argument for or against it being a new game. That's exactly my point.

Furthermore all of this is wholly unrelated to whether the next "project" will be Korea or not.

it mathers, because guy i was replaying was saying that Korea makes no logic as they would not be able to use all assets from this game, east or west front DLCs.

I just show with that quote about GUI, that devs are making new game, so then it dosent mather what assets we have now.

I dont know how you can belive that they will make new GUI and then spend more time making everything in GB work on it, for FREE, insted spend less time and use new GUI to make new game and get money for it. This is what they did when they spend 5 years working on making RoF GUI better and then used it for IL-2, not RoF, then made ww1 airplanes later in it, not give it for free to RoF and waist time making RoF stuff work in it. Its obvious they are making new game.

It's a Lufbery circle, just as difficult to get out of as the real thing. :)

Well first of all, I'm not certain there will not be a new game. It's possible. But it's also possible they make it a "DLC" like the previous ones:

- They only things they mentioned they're going to build from the ground up (GUI, Shading, Radio, AI) are relatively easy to combine with existing aircraft.

- They already said they're likely going to the PTO after the next "project". Why return to WW2 in a new game, when all other WW2 stuff is in an old one?

- The main selling point of IL2 is the sheer volume of its content. If they indeed move to the PTO, they may well "miss the boat" so to speak and lose much of their customer base to Combat Pilot, which is presumably long since released by then.

And that's where you're wrong ;) You use that quote about the GUI to explain why it's taking so long, use the fact that it's taking so long to "prove" that the new "project" is a separate game, then use the "fact" that it'll be a separate game to explain why they haven't announced anything, and then again use the fact that they haven't announced anything to "prove" that it's a separate game. See where your reasoning falls apart? Your argumentation goes in circles.

I agree with you that the ability to re-use assets isn't very important for a Korea module. However they already said the module after that will be WW2 again. Right now, they are the market leader in realistic, coherent packages of aircraft and maps. Would they risk losing this position to Combat Pilot or perhaps even DCS by giving up their only advantage, this amount of aircraft and maps? I don't know. What I do know however is that these are hard questions and we haven't seen any conclusive evidence either way.

Is it possible?  A Malta and Tobrouk map?  With player controlled tanks, areoplanes, convoys, and submarines?  And aircraft carriers ? [because they have the data?]

And biplane torpedo bombers?

Oof I hope. Bagration and rounding out the soviets with some late war stuff to match the west would be great. It would also be fun to try soviets vs USAF & RAF.

Love the George! Not like the Zero mind you, but a great airplane to have someday.

Very little available research available on it compared to the Zero, and even the Oscar.

Looking forward to seeing it if these guys get to late war PTO. :)

Aye - I tend to swap the names.

Here's a little work-in progress project of mine...no it's not for the fight sim.

I'm somewhat familiar. :)
