Is there anyway to make BoS recognize Joy1 as a Joy0?

After the complete reinstall of joystick drivers, Rudder became Joy0. Should I remap the controls manually?  :(

 You have to remap. Even changing USB port changes ID.

Thank you. I changed USB port and it's back to normal  :)

In this case it's possible to edit the current.actions and current.map files in IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input. It's mandatory to do the changes to both files at the same time.

Example:

current.map:

action("machineguns_fire","State","joy1_b1");
action("cannons_fire","State","joy1_b0");

current.actions:

machineguns_fire,                                 joy1_b1,                                          0| // Fire only machine guns
cannons_fire,                                     joy1_b0,                                          0| // Fire only cannons

Just change those joy1 prefixes to joy0 or whatever it is swapped to. Of course it's possible to to so with search+replace. I did that to change the default stick mappings to joy1 as my main stick is #2 in my controllers list.

But you solved it already, but maybe others will find this thread with similar problems :)

I have the opposite problem I can't get mine to change. I tried Joy ID swapper app with no luck. I want to play star citizen but the joy0 is the throttle and joy 3 is the stick :(

Sounds like Star Citizen sets up the ID based on what has been plugged in first then. Not sure why that would be a problem (or does Star Citizen not allow you to change the bindings?) but can try to edit the registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResources\....  (something like joystick should follow there)

There should be the ID for each device and you should be able to edit them. Try at your own risk. Otherwise unplug, reboot and plug them in the order you want to have them and that might work as well.

I just had this happen to me and it was very annoying. Best fix is to just go to the game directory and into data and input devices. In there you will see a text file called "devices.txt". This is where the number on the device gets changed. There is also a "Original" folder. Just go in there get the devices.txt file and replace the changed on with this one and everything will go back to the original USB number inputs.
