III/JG52_Supongo Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Hi friends. The gunsights have little brightness and even disappear when using VR (PICO 4). Is there any way to increase the brightness of the gunsight? Regards Supongo 1
Talisman Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 I find the same thing and would also like to increase brightness. I use Pimax 5k+ VR. Happy landings, Talisman

Skycat1969 Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 I use this mod and I think it is an improvement for VR. (Ignore the title, the mod now for most or all of the WWII aircraft with reflector gunsights.)

=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 It does work online if you install it on a per plane basis, by dropping the file in the same folder that you put the custom pilot photo in. It doesn't work online if you do a global install in the common texture folder.
Riderocket Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Sunlight filter makes the reticle brighter and in VR works very well

Should i change the name of the file as i copy paste it from the zip file i downloaded and put it inside the textures folder of each plane or not? It seems not to work for me... Should it work for each file name i choose or should i name it with a specific name for each plane? Thank you!!
=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 The name of the file has to match the original name that specific plane uses, and each nation has 2+ versions with different names, so there's a little bit of trial and error to find the matching name(s), but there's usually an easy enough pattern to follow, like the older German planes use the revi name with a 12 in it, and the newer ones use the name with a 16 in it.

Thank you! Does anybody know the name of the files for p51, lagg3, la fn and bf 109 g2?
=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 You can also just dump every file in each planes folder to make sure you get the right ones, the extra files won't hurt.
Lusekofte Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 I hope next whatever it is contain complexity enough to be able to adjust the sights like in DCS. I think much of the complaints I have and other is based on things not possible with todays game engine. They met a brick wall and want to improve
=MERCS=JenkemJunkie Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 You can use custom sights in IL2 same as DCS. The file just needs to be in the right format with the right name. It will likely need some tweaking to make it look good though.
