[80 years ago today] "• The Kyushu Q1W Tokai has its maiden flight. The first Japanese purposefully designed anti-submarine aircraft, it will initially be reported by Allied units as a copy of the Ju-88. The “Lorna” is much smaller and a completely different design, with two low power and fuel efficient engines allowing long endurance. 153 will be built.
