Behaviour: The AI is making a 90 degrees climb trying to get the advantage, then dives, and repeats climbing and diving.
Situation: Head on, at the same altitude(and probably in cases with small altitude differences)
AI level: Novice(ONLY), didn't notice this behaviour at higher levels.
Plane type: ANY(eg Yak-1 vs FW-190 A3, Bf-109 G-14 vs Spit IXe and vice versa etc).

Game mode: ANY(Quick Missions, Single Missions, Career)

This behavior makes the dogfight experience very unpleasant(https://steamcommunity.com/app/307960/discussions/0/6760518612033501221/).

I've attached a track file of a duel between a Bf-109 G-14 and a Spit IXe.

Appreciate the report @haris. What altitudes and starting distances were used for these missions?

This particular track is at 1500m altitude, i don't know the exact distance(probably around 3000 m).

I can give you some extra feedback:

  1. It is definetly plane independend(even the Ju88-C6 will attempt it in a close dogfight situation).
  2. It happens face to face and when you pursuit the enemy at close distance.
  3. It happens at every altitude, mostly at mid and  low.
  4. It depends on the energy state and the flight characteristics of the plane. If the plane can do it, the pilot will attempt it.
  5. It definetly happens in Novice AI and i think only at this level when he is trying to take the advantage(at the same altitude or when he is lower. He will not attempt this maneuver when he has a clear altitude advantage).

I hope this helps.

Yes, thank you, I'll definitely pass along this information.

Sadly this wasn't fixed in the last update. Any news from the devs?

I'll ask again.
