rudolf60 Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 A visual thing about the behavior of trim surfaces. For example, if I want to trim the nose of the Hurricane down, visually the trim surfaces turn upwards, which I think is the wrong direction. The same applies to the trim surface of the rudder, i.e. it visually turns in the wrong direction. Will it be the same in other planes as well? Could I be right or wrong.
MajorMagee Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) Think about it as the trim tabs are flying the control surface, not the aircraft. So the tab moving up will fly the back edge of the elevator down. The elevator moving down will raise the tail, and the nose of the aircraft will go down. Edited September 4, 2023 by MajorMagee
