Repainting und retexturierung of the mud

Recently I came across  in Germany released documentary "Feuer vom Himmel" (Fire from the sky) about the early days of the air war and found the CGI ground textures of the front line depicted there convincingly rendered. Frankly speaking, I´m unhappy with the ground textures of the NML and the trenches in Flying Circus, as they look me as monotonous, flat and boring. I would very much appreciate if the ground textures on the Western Front Map would be reworked. Do you think it would be possible to achieve a 3D effect like the CGI ground textures of the TV documentary with a different coloring, brightness differences and drawn shading?

Here are a few screenshots from the documentary:

IMHO the western front textures are step down compared to ROF. Not the resolution but how they are presented and what color palette do they have against trees, how textures change when they are far from view (lod levels). In ROF everything was clear and distinguishable, you would admire the artistic look of the landscape from the sky above. When in FC there is a mees, not pleasant to enjoy like in ROF, everything is mixed up,  some fields look like forest from distance ,villages and aerodromes are not distinguishable enough . Awful dark. Why they just not retain textures color palette from ROF....

These mods look fantastic! One can see what is possible with the game engine. Maybe the developers will have an insight and upgrade the ground textures, since the focus is now also on Flying Circus.

Since I fly almost only online, my game is without mods. Nevertheless thanks for your advise.

I tried this mod, well done JSO - and thanks to all modders who do things for the game.

In this instance, for me the NML mod looks a bit shiny and sharp.

Distant detail seems too well resolved, almost as if everything in view is reading distance away.

Some nice detail in there though.
