Another Odd Life Decision

Following a sh!t few years with my late wife's health I decided I needed a goal, so rather than settle down into comfortable old age I signed up to this...

earlier this year. And as I reckon "in for a penny, in for a pound" I'm doing the full circumnavigation.

The start date is now just round the corner so like all those ideas that seem like a good idea the time, I now have to do it.

There's been lots of training and I've been able to help out in the preparation of the boats so I'm looking forward to it. Ask me again in a year though and we'll see what the answer is!

Here's me wondering what I'm doing with my life during one of the training weeks. 

 

 

Anyway, you won't be hearing from me for a year so make the most of it, don't break anything, and if there's a Lancaster in the works somebody let me know

I absolutely sympathize with that! When dealing with severe crises every day for years, folks often forget the fact that they're actually heroes, playing in a league that's waaaaay out there. I'm convinced you do the right thing,  and that you'll succeed! Share a few pics along the way!

Condolences for your loss. There are things one can't get over, but one can learn to live with. And I think you going on this journey is a good way of doing just that! Was always great having you around here Oli! I still do hope you find occasions to post some impressions of your journey.
