I don't have a big issue with HSD, but I much prefer a quick and direct download versus spending 10 minutes (just timed it), updating the database, searching for, finding, and downloading one or two new skins through their interface. (Before my recent internet speed upgrade it was more like 45-60 minutes, so I never wanted to bother with HSD at all!)

I'm lucky, I guess. I hardly have to wait more than a minute to get HSD up and running. Downloading new skins takes ~20sec for me. However, the first time I used HSD, it took about 5 minutes to download all the skins. This was way before HSD  collected the 10,000+ skins they have available. There are options available, however. I have my HSD options to only include historic and inspired skins.  This way I avoid all the goofy "hello kitty", "Batman", etc skins. Additionally, if you only want IL2 TC skins, filter your options for only TC. You can also sort by artist name. This way you guys can easily download all the skins I've uploaded to HSD by using the artist drop down panel and selecting JV44HeinzBar, for example....shameless plug

 

I make mention of using HSD because the camouflage makes online play more challenging for me. The standard skins stand out for even with all graphical options maxed out. For me, the more people that use HSD, the more likely I'll see more realistic skins online.

For some reason my HSD is now totally kaput.  Was taking an hour to open up. Then I reinstalled it, now it's even worse.  Not sure of the problem but most of my HB skins are still in tact.
