MiG21bisFishbedL Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Just got back from Oshkosh with plenty of images to share. I would have video of the flight in, but my inflight camera went kaput. Most here are privately owned warbirds. Everything posted here is airworthy. 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 S! Only Brits can design something that ugly like the Fairey Gannet The 1 -seater Skyraider just looks so darn nice! Was it an A-1J? Nice pics, thanks for sharing

Was it an A-1J? Nice pics, thanks for sharing It's so ugly and so awesome. I love it. The visibility for the PIC looks incredible. And that single-seater 'raider is even older than that. It's an AD-1, one of 240 original production run Skyraiders. Frankly, if someone were to get me a good study sim of any Skyraider, I'd buy it ten times over. 1
kestrel79 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I went on Friday. Favorite plane I saw was the bubble top Griffon engine Spit. Anyone know what mk. it was? XIV? Wish it flew the day I was there...the late war spits are my fav they look so sleek.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing Judging by the indoard hard points and lack of armour, that plus only 2 cannons, I would say not. 2 of my favorite planes right there, skyraider and gannet. Brano Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 That Fresco in black/grey/white cammo is just yummy
Gort Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Snort Snodgrass flys that. Don't know how he is able to close the canopy on his ego.

Wish it flew the day I was there...the late war spits are my fav they look so sleek.I flew in on Friday, as well. I left Sunday morning, however my ride was certainly less impressive. I'll just say I flew in a Skyhawk; you guys can decide whether or not it was a 172M or a version of the A-4. But, yeah, Late-War Giffon Spits are hot. I love how fast they look compared to their early war counterparts. Snort Snodgrass flys that. Don't know how he is able to close the canopy on his ego. Well, when you have that much time in Tomkitties, it does kind of go to your head. But, are you sure it's Snort's? I knew he flew with the Black Diamonds in it for a while, but both went up for sale in 2012 after the team went entirely L-39. I loved their CT-133. Both that and the Fresco provided a cool asymmetry to the team. Either way, as Brano said, that camo is wonderful. Thanks a lot for sharing these pics, MiG21bisFishbedL!For sure, have more! This time, though, we have some US Gov't property on display in addition: I really love Mohawks. They're just so crazy cool. The Osprey would've stolen the show if it weren't for.. ..these jerks. Who do they think they are anyways? What's this USAF? Sounds like a bunch of meanies trying to ruin the fun for some Marine fliers. 1
