The V1 and V2 German Rocket bombardment had begun against Southern England. Gradually every type of Allied aircraft was mobilised against them, including the venerable old RAF Hurricanes.

 

Clostermann, flying as wingman in ‘A’ Flight RAF 602 Squadron, graphically describes RAF 184 Squadron’s Hurricane attack against ‘No-Ball V1 site No.79’ situated south- east of Hesdin.

These missions were known as ‘Rodeo Missions’ and were designed to take the fight back to the Luftwaffe, the RAF trying to use a superior fighter force to overwhelm the German fighter defences.

 

I suggest at the start of the mission putting your Spitfire on autopilot and watching it taxi out, this will ‘sync’ the mission timing. When you arrive at the target site, after the Hurricane bombing attack, attack the V1 site independently and watch out for the flak? The JG26 ‘Abbeville Boys’ will be patrolling the area.
