Roshko Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 (edited) PWCQ says it can't generate the missionreport (AAR I think it's called?) Before reporting it as a bug, I wanna make sure I'm doing it right, and so far I've just exited on engine-stop after landing I'm actually testing it right now with an AI flying my plane at 8x time-scale, but it's a looong wait after landing, nothing seems to be happening, and I thought it would be nice to hear from more experienced PWCG-users Edited August 13, 2023 by Roshko
Roshko Posted August 13, 2023 Author Posted August 13, 2023 Result: I waited a long time - no ingame announcement -, and then lost patience and exited. Mission status was "accomplished", and the PWCG gave me a nice debrief, so everything seems to be a-ok. But how long should I wait?
PatrickAWlson Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 PWCG doesn't care about what the game says in terms of mission success or failure. There is no point system in PWCG. Promotions and medals are based on missions flown and targets destroyed. PWCG doesn't even care if your plane didn't make it. I have yet to hear of any punishment for losing a plane in combat. The powers that be were generally happy to get their pilot back. 1
Roshko Posted August 16, 2023 Author Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) Thanks! I have one more question: I've just flown a patrol-mission over Moscow twice. First time I had to engage the autopilot because something came up. When I got back to the game, the plane had crashed - perhaps I failed to engage the AP. At any rate, I simply restarted the mission and shot down 2 x He111, which on these forums certainly isn't anything to brag about, but to me is quite spectacular. However PWCG wouldn't debrief the mission (no debriefing in between the two flights, no error messages). Is that a general rule: If a mission is flown twice, it's out? PWCG is coded to use the last set of log files for a mission. You can fly a mission as often as you want and PWCG will use the last one. Not sure what happened in your case. 1
Roshko Posted August 16, 2023 Author Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) Thanks - I probably did something wrong then. "Last mission" - is that last PWCG mission or any last mission? In other words: Should I do the debrief before flying any other missions (incl. QMBs)? Edited August 16, 2023 by Roshko
PatrickAWlson Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 If you fly the same mission 3x PWCG will pick up the third one. Details: The name of the mission is in the first file of the log file set. Each log file set has the date and time of mission start in its name. PWCG reads all of the first log files (identified by [0] in the file name) and searches for the mission that is queued up. Then it sorts those files by the date/time in the filename and picks thew last set of logs. 1
