Zoom on map in VR

Is it possible to zoom in on the map in a mission when flying? can´t find any commands for it.

Don’t you just select the map and use the mouse wheel?

In the briefing room it is but not in flight, atleast not for me. It would be a blast if it was possible to zoom in on the map whilst flying cause my map is zoomed to outer space and it´s kind of hard to navigate on it ?.

The briefing mission map (key O) can be zoomed in clicking on it and using the mouse wheel. I only have one or two things mapped to that mouse wheel , but I also have a key on my HOTAS mapped for that particular map. 

I don’t use the mini map at all. 

Also you can change the opacity of the map which I have set around 30% so I can look out the cockpit and see where I’m located.

It's also possible to shrink your map a bit and put a curve in it so it's more like a curled map in your pit.  

 

I use these values,  There is a limit that kicks in if you try to go too far.

or_hud_rad = 0.30000
or_hud_size = 0.50000

 

Makes it much safer flying low level with a good sense of your ground proximity.  Handy if you do lots of low level navigation.
