HELP-Accidently Uninstalled the Game

Need advice on how to recover-reinstall IL2 game.

Somehow I accidently uninstalled the entire game.

I had all the sites, most of the planes, campaigns etc

I hate to say this.... but download the installer and go again from scratch.

I guess you could take your box in to a guy and see if any recovery is possible? Probably less hassle to just reinstall if you have good enough internet though

Alright, this depends on a number of things:

- First of all, planes, maps and official campaigns are always restored when you simply re-install the game (although depending on the things below, you may lose your progress in campaigns and/or the career).

- Do you have backups? If yes, then restore them. If not, perhaps now's a good time to start ;)

- How did you "uninstall" the game? From an uninstaller, or did you delete the files on your hard drive? If the former, there may still be some user data left (e.g. campaign/career progress, skins, non-official campaigns, keybindings, settings, mods, ...) which will still be there if you re-install the game.

- If you're good with computers, you could try to recover the data if you didn't use the disk in the meantime. If you have a lot of money to spend, you can pay someone to do it for you. Mileage may vary.

IL2 is one of the easiest game to reinstall!

Yes, you lost all your campaigns and personal skins if you did not make a backup of those, but the game in itself is on this site for you to download.

And if you know your preference in graphics and others pc particularities, it is the easiest games to set up.

Even your joystick and keyboard input particularities can be saved in the future on another drive for reproduction in a new installation.

Same for an installation in a new PC or rig!

It is a fun game even to install.:salute:

All true, but it is fun to begin anew, after all you are not dead like so many real pilots during so many wars.:salute:

I guess that's true; to some extent the very worst case is that you'll have to fly some missions again. But flying missions is exactly what we're here for, aren't we? :)
