Start sim with desktop shortcut to avoid opening steam problems in VR

Hi fellow gurus and pilots,

 

I installed the opencomposite DLL files as per game install recommendations for my Pico 4 and made a shortcut from the exe file to make it easy to start from desktop and not to be needed to open steam and such, so far all is humpty dumpty and the sim is firing up but when clicking the menus to fly a mission or so the map is totally grey and no missions shown.

 

Does anybody know what can be wrong? or isn´t it possible to start the sim that way?
