$19.99. Does this mean that it's arrival is... imminent? ?

Thx, however I dont see (maybe yet) discount for DC-3 owners (even after login).

Let's make a deal, this model was not developed 100% as new, and it's a DC-3 modification, so I'm counting on half of this price for DC-3 owners, and if not, I'll wait for the sale that will be in the future sooner or later ?

There are planes that are variants of other planes we already have and you don't get half price for those new variants. This is no different with the Li-2. The real world of it being a modified DC-3/C-47 is a lot different than creating a "modification" for a game.

That's why I'm in no rush. Honestly, I haven't flown the DC-3 much so it's still a new addon to me even though I pre-ordered it near one year before ;). A good price for owners of DC-3 would be an incentive and so'll wait. It's a bit of a different category for me as a combat aircraft, despite the fact that I have everything from the IL-2 ?.

Yeah I kinda agree with this too. I have no problem paying full price for Iar80, Hurricane, mc202 but come on, Li-2, Spit Mark XIVe and the next 109G6 for high alt sold like they were made entirely from scratch at full price? Not a fan.

I’m currently far from the place where I play flight sims (save for 1946 and CloD which I play on my laptop using the keyboard) and I just bought the Li-2 though will probably not be able to fly it until this December.

I hope this is a sign of release coming soon!

I don't believe a discount was ever promised... obviously you can wait for the sales.

Honestly, the two designs are really different:

- Completely different engines

- Different cockpit (different instruments and layout)

- Different cargo compartment (and cargo loads)

- Addition of dorsal and side turrets

- Addition of bomb-sights, bombs, armour protection, fire suppression systems

The more I read about it the clearer it is that it is essentially a totally new plane except for the wings/tail and landing-gear :)

This isn't the Soviet C-47... it is another branch of the DC-3 family entirely... so I think it is quite reasonable if they want to charge as a separate plane. My two cents.

I don't understand folks complaining about the LI-2, its a totally different aircraft to the DC3 with a completely different mission set and interesting sounding career mode.

To be honest - I was originally thinking along those lines myself. When the C-47 was announced I said essentially 'Oh, they can now easily make an Li-2'!

It is only after a lot of reading that I've discovered just how different (and remarkable) a plane it was.

For instance, the bomber versions could quickly be converted into transports or medical evacuation planes... and some of the stories about how they resupplied partisans... or kept the Leningrad airbridge open - well, I now suspect that transport pilots often need quite a bit more daring than fighter pilots did.

Suffice it to say - this aircraft will be worth it as an addition to the sim.

Agree. I only included the reduced price as a positive. Wish I hadn't now...

I do still hope it's imminent though - been looking forward to this for a while ?

What he said. ?

Beyond that, there is the reality that coders, modelers, and texture artists have had to commit a fairly standard amount of time to ensure everything is working properly with this new model. Trust me, it hasn't been a matter of just taking the base C-47 model, tweaking a few things, and calling it good. ?

I can only imagine how long it took to develop the new li-2.

It won't have happened overnight, that I am sure.

And I already know that... by the time I can take-off in it with my pico 4 VR that I will have completely forgotton whatever I paid for it anyway ?
