FC v BoX bomber numbers career mode

Just wondering, doing some FC missions in career mode I’m struck by the sheer number of aircraft you encounter on missions, there are so many more than you encounter on most BoX career missions. Now, I’m wondering, is this my perception or are the skies much more populated in FC missions?

Airspeed probably has more to do with that than anything else.  Slower speeds allow greater congregation of more participants in a smaller area for longer.

Good point, it’s just a totally different vibe, the sky is literally teaming with aircraft, it’s amazing!

Wouldn't it be more likely to be less AI ground units? I thought the engine was limited to how many AI units can be present all at once? 

 

ie. If there are less ground units in the mission, then there is more room to fit extra AI aircraft into the mission.

 

I don't own FC, so am just speculating

It is! I agree. Completely different experience. It also makes the use of two-seat fighters quite different.
