beresford Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 What cues should I be using in IL2 to determine mixture setting? I know that in FC you can watch the RPM gauge and even turn round to see how much smoke you are making.
1CGS LukeFF Posted July 26, 2023 1CGS Posted July 26, 2023 Pretty much the same thing as in FC, with the exception that in American planes you should be using Auto Lean in cruise and then Auto Rich in combat/takeoff/landing.
kestrel79 Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 I want to say the Russian planes will have tan smoke when the mixture is too rich. You want it as lean as can be without your manifold pressure dipping I think. German and late US planes are much easier. I like those
