A quick question about Spitfire mk.V engine.

On the in-mission info card/spec sheet, Point #1 of the operational notes states that there is an automatic manifold pressure regulator that must be manually disabled in order to set the boost level to 16lbs.

I can't find the keybind setting in the engine controls menu for "automatic manifold pressure regulator on/off.  The mixture and RPM controls are purely manual so, those don't work.  I don't think that there is an actual override for the supercharger - which is automatic.  I'm pretty sure it's not just the boost switch.  All-out everything settings doesn't seem to take the boost pressure to 16lbs.

What keybind setting should I look for or have I missed something?

Also, does this apply to both the Merlin 45 and 46 or is it only 1?

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

It is the boost switch. That switch never boosted but acted as override to the boost governor. That is also why it initially was called „emergency cut-out“.

Oof...   I should have known that.   I was testing it above 15,000ft, which is why I probably wasn't seeing the full 16lbs. For some reason, I thought that there was something else I was missing.

Thanks!

Yeah I remember reading BOB pilot accounts of "pulling the plug" on almost every mission.  Seemed to be SOP.

But most of those acounts were for Hurricane pilots, as they have a red knob to pull out to un-regulate the supercharger.
