[80 years ago today] "• The experimental long range Tachikawa Ki-77 attempts to fly from Singapore to the German airbase of Sabarus in the Crimea. It carries eight tons of fuel which should be ample but vanishes during the flight. It is possible that the aircraft was intercepted by British fighters following decryption of messages by Bletchley Park, but those files are still sealed."
