WitchyWoman Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 (edited) so I used to have my keyboard number pad 8 and 2 and 6 and 4 set to pilot head left and right and up and down seat so I could easily bring the collminator sights into focus. For some reason these keys stopped working in the sim. I do not use snap modes and have my pov on my stick set to look around. Is there any key in game to get these keypad functions working again for my pilots head? This is so weird that its not working now. Thanks in advance. Edited July 4, 2023 by WitchyWoman
Ghost666 Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 The the "num Lock" key get pushed, it toggles those keys between numbers and arrows.
WitchyWoman Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 (edited) I tried turning numlock off and on, no joy. Here are screen grabs of my controls. The joystick pov settings and zoom work fine but I cannot get head moves to work anymore in game on any keys at all. Also if I do press F9 even though its set to the snap modes it never changes modes and stays strictly in snap mode so I disabled all keys that were bound to snaps. I did try resetting everything to default and setting it all back up but that did not work either. Edited July 4, 2023 by WitchyWoman
czech693 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) If you're trying to position you head to center on the sight shouldn't you be using the Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down keys while you hold the Num5 key down? Followed by F10 to set it. Edited July 5, 2023 by czech693
WitchyWoman Posted July 5, 2023 Author Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) I have always reset my keys to the number pad for this as I prefer it as shown in my pictures above. It always worked before and also works in IL-2GB so no, you do not have to use the keys you mentioned, like I said Ive always scrapped the default and used these keys in their place which has worked for years up to a week ago or so. I also never used f10 to save them, I simply moved via numberpad whenever I wanted to use the scope optics and liked it that way. Edited July 5, 2023 by WitchyWoman
czech693 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Okay. Your assignments show that those keys are assigned to something else. Are they also assigned to the camera controls? If so, try deleting those and see if that makes a difference.
WitchyWoman Posted July 6, 2023 Author Posted July 6, 2023 I cleared the duplicates and still it does not respond to keypad.
czech693 Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 (edited) I just set mine up the way you have it and it works for me. You have to hold the Num 5 key down while you move your head position, and the Num Lock has to be activated. How do you fix that position without using the F10 key? Do you just leave it in position and not use the Num 5 key to re-center? I might have to try that. I don't like normal flying with a head offset to line up with an offset sight. WitchyWoman Posted July 7, 2023 Author Posted July 7, 2023 (edited) I have turned numberlock off and on and it the key do not respond. It was working weeks ago and this same configuration works currently in Il-2 FC so I don't know whats happening here. And no I have not bothered saving the view in f10. anytime I use the scope sights I just readjust my aim using 2,8,4,and 6. I also never had to hold down 5 to get the view to slide around. Always used 5 just to recenter to default view if I wanted. Edited July 7, 2023 by WitchyWoman
WitchyWoman Posted July 7, 2023 Author Posted July 7, 2023 Ok guys your right, for some reason I do have to hold down 5 to get it to move, thats weird, I never had to before. Thanks for the help. its better than it not working at all.
czech693 Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I got it to work without using the Num 5 key. I think it's because I changed the graphics settings on the launch page to this:
