C-47 D-Day Paratrooper Drop

In career mode, which C-47 squadron do I need to join to take part in the paratrooper drops on (and just before) D-Day?

Not at my gaming computer right now, but I am pretty sure every playable C-47 squadron participates in the airborne landings.

I picked the squadron at the top, started with Operation Overlord, and my first mission was doing cargo deliveries three days after D-Day. 
 

Do I need to start earlier to participate in the paratroop drops?

Yes, start in Chapter 1, and your first mission should be on the late night of the 5th or early on the 6th.

I have made a short campaign for the C47. The first mission are D-day drop. Did not really like what the career did for the C47 so I made the missions i wanted and turned them into a campaign, check it out if interessted ?

Already downloaded and trying it out!

Also, note there is at least one official single-mission D-Day scenario for the C-47 that was released in one of the recent updates.
