tattywelshie Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Having owned FC 1 and 2 but never really played them, I thought last night is start id strap on the quest 2, dust down a spad and start new career in the RFC. Wow is all I have to say, having spent 99% of my time flying career mode in WW2 birds, this is a whole different ball game! The swirling mass of crates and the absolute chaos of the missions is amazing! Feel like there’s so much more going on in these missions compared to the WW2 sorties, so much more interest and seemingly a lot more of a random nature of the missions. Anyways, I’m two missions in, first mission, killed two DR 1s and then landed upside down on the airfield, walked away with a minor wound. Next mission, two more kills and a tree top escape via no man’s land with about 6 Albatrosses on my tail! Amazing, keep up the good work guys! 11
Monksilver Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 I got FC1 in the last sale and now have a Reverb G2. I couldn't agree more with the above. Flying the WW2 planes in VR is good but flying the Camel in dogfights in an ironman campaign is amazing, just had an incredible experience in a long 2 on 2 dogfight over my airfield. One advantage of the WW1 planes is there are far less buttons needed so I can assign all I need to my CH throttle quadrant which makes them easy to find when blindfolded with the headset and no fumbling with the keyboard. I am now struggling to resist getting FC2, I'm probably going to cave in. All I've got to do now is sort out the settings. My Nvidia 2070 isn't doing too badly at 100% resolution giving 45-46fps but with some juddering in images on the last flight. 5
Guest deleted@219798 Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 I flew 2 mission last night, both intercepting ground attackers. One mission was Jasta 6 the other Jasta 11. The routes for both were identical. Enemy planes were in the same positions. 1st mission Camels, Dolphins, DH-4 and 2nd Nieuport 28's, Dolphins, DH-4's. Bristol Fighters not used once. Really random nature? It gets fairly predictable in most types of mission where the enemy planes will come from. I've flown a lot of missions since careers were introduced and it's mostly repetitive.
