[merge with RC plane thread (I couldn't find it)]
IMG_20230630_165843.thumb.png.f59a5645cb6bdb2eee804ae3ca9152dd.pngI ordered a cheap styrene RC plane off ebay
I have had it for a month but weather has been too bad to fly
Today I took it out (left a battery at home)
The plane has a built in gyro which makes it basically autofly
but the gyro has 3 levels

If you know me from multiplayer you can probably guess I didn't manage to smoothly touch down on my home runway which was a cricket green

I did flick it into expert no gyro mode a few times
everything goes well until it suddenly doesn't and you are lawn darting at full speed

I did a little bit of damage too it - nothing major
I pulled off a few hammerheads
but I had issues with controlling at high speed - most of the time I was flying with barely enough throttle to stay up as this was more fun

I also took the wheels off as I didn't want to be bothered with finding them in the long grass after a crash

I also think the elevator rod is a bit jammed up at everything else is moving smoothly but its barely moving much at all

Ok so PVA worked ok for the tail
But I think I need to support the wing with a brace

I also think I need to extend the elevator servo arm a little bit as its not very responsive
Roll is amazing thanks to the massive amount of deflected area and big deflection angle
But the elevator hardly deflects at all the area is really small in comparison which doesn't help either

I'm wondering though if I increase the arm it might overpower the servo?
