Fade Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 So I'm just coming back to il2, as it looks like OpenComposite is a great thing now vs having to use SteamVR. I have this weird issue though, where moving my head feels floaty/like I'm underwater, or as if the IPD is off. I can feel my eyes straining and it gives me a headache after a bit, or as if there's a piece of curved glass in front of my "VR Eyes" that's causing things to bend wrong. Or almost like there's a tiny bit of zoom applied? For reference I'm using a Reverb G1, 6900xt, 12700k. I've tried using OpenComposite, with and without Toolkit, and going back to SteamVR. It only does it in il2 though, DCS, Pavlov and other games are all fine, again regardless of which API I'm using that fisheye effect is horrible. I've tried messing with IPD through the Mixed Reality settings, as well as using the in-game keys and it doesn't really seem help? Its really a shame, because it looks and runs soo good with my settings using OpenComposite. I tried doing a repair through Steam as well, nothing.
Fade Posted June 26, 2023 Author Posted June 26, 2023 Ok, so after 16+ hours of dealing with this dang thing... Here's what I found... somehow, windows must have updated WMR... and reset the "Experience Options" to "Optimize for Performance" Swapped it to "Best visual quality" and BLAMO! FIXED. Can we get that added to the FAQ? I spent 2 whole days messing with everything and was about an hour away from just nuking my windows install and starting from scratch.
