343KKT_Kintaro Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Hi all. I found one toy plane in a delicatessen shop here in France (it's on display at the top of a bunch of French wine bottles, LoL). The shop owner owns this toy plane for many years now, but he doesn't know where it is from, nor what it is exactly. These are the photographs I was authorised to take, does anyone have an idea about what it is? A British aircraft for sure, looks like a Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 to me... but I could be wrong (a B.E.2.... presenting mistakes, obviously, but it's an old toy, not an accurate model). So what? Suggestions?
Trooper117 Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Probably supposed to be a Tiger moth as its RAF and yellow like the trainer aircraft at that time... it's obviously not a faithful reproduction, just someones cobbled together idea of one.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted June 22, 2023 Author Posted June 22, 2023 Yep, I had one thought for the Tiger Moth... but the tail reminds better a B.E.2... don't you agree, Trooper?
343KKT_Kintaro Posted June 22, 2023 Author Posted June 22, 2023 Ok, my French friends from the Checksix forums found what it is: 1) It's an Avro 621 Tutor (1933... so I'm at the wrong forum! LoL!): Aircraft Data K3215, 1933 Avro 621 Tutor C/N K3215 (airport-data.com) 2) It's not old, it's a "false antique" made in China (so the shop owner's spouse told me nonsense...) Whatever...
