Densetsu Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) Welcome to my ignore list. Bye! Add me too, please. Hopefully you add everyone to your ignore list so you stop posting. Edited August 1, 2014 by Hal 1
Rama Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Moving there a "discussion" which is totally off-topic in the "Developer Diary, Part 74" post in the general forum. Not sure if it's of any interest to know who's and who's not on Siggi's ignore list.... but since apparently it's a matter of interest, who am I to decide... 3
BraveSirRobin Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 With the greatest of pleasure. Thanks! Don't forget to add the other people who have requested it.
CreepiJim Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Lol, Siggi, maybe we share the same ignore list at some point :D

Do we get another bar to add beneath our avatars? By the way, Siggi, I've got that fifty quid I owed you....Siggi...Siggi? Oh well.

My thoughts exactly! I mean, each to their own and everything, but this topic does seem a bit redundant. Besides, do we really need a metaphorical list? Isn't the act of ignoring enough?

JimTM Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Rama, Sorry for going off topic. I just became fed up with the lack of respect shown towards the developers in Siggi's post (and other posts). I hope this will change. Salut!
sallee Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Hear hear. It's incredibly tiresome. Real life is full enough of unpleasantness without it encroaching on what should be edifying and enjoyable.
Rjel Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I wonder what would happen if someone put themselves on the ignore list? Would they cease to exsis.......
Felix58 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Siggi's criticisms are not unwarranted, perhaps a bit emotive! If you can't be a bit passionate about your hobby, what hope is their!
JimTM Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Siggi's criticisms are not unwarranted, perhaps a bit emotive! If you can't be a bit passionate about your hobby, what hope is their! You can be passionate about something without being abusive. He had a point to make but he made a choice to take the low road. I hope he can resist the urge next time. 1
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I got recruited by JG3 and was about to jump on board until he started ranting. Don't want to be associated with that sort of behavior. Ironically, we are on the same side/opinion of the Fw cockpit issue......less the conspiratorial diatribes. 1
Cybermat47 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) And there goes my respect for you, Siggi. Seriously, what did you hope to gain with this thread? EDIT: I just checked your profile, Siggi. Says you're 54 years old. 54 years old, and you've got nothing better to do than to be rude to people on the internet? Edited August 2, 2014 by Cybermat47
Feathered_IV Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Put me on there too. I'll take it as a kindness if you never quote me or reply to any topic I post. 1
LLv44_Mprhead Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 This seems to be very popular topic... I got to say, I'm with aus3620 in this. You can be passionate about something without being abusive. He had a point to make but he made a choice to take the low road. I hope he can resist the urge next time. Because that's the thing, when you are very passionate about something, resisting the urge becomes nearly impossible. That's just the way it is, many of us have something that makes us to go over revs and unfortunately the time you would need the most to step away from the keyboard is the time you are least likely to do it
Creepermoss Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Food for thought; if someone is ignoring you, but posting threads about you being ignored, are they truly ignoring you?

That's just the way it is, many of us have something that makes us to go over revs and unfortunately the time you would need the most to step away from the keyboard is the time you are least likely to do it That's the definition of childish petulance. When a child is passionate about something he screams and bullies. When an adult is passionate about something he expresses his arguments in a way which is likely to sway others. Failure to do so diminishes, rather than strengthens, the likelihood that his views will be shared. To be older than, say, 21 without having noticed that is a pretty poor position to be in. This is an internet forum, you're not just blurting something out to someone face to face with little time to think you are typing a reply and hitting a submit button and that's all the time in the world to read through what you are posting.
DD_bongodriver Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Wow!! what a fuss, having read Siggi's post I really haven't seen anything particularly rude, simply a strong opinion.......a bit like casually saying you are an atheist while standing in a church. 2
Emgy Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) NB: as was written by a mod, Siggi didn't make this thread, it's a series of off-topic posts that were separated from the DD thread. Edited August 2, 2014 by Calvamos 1
oneeyeddog Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 A good measure of whether or not what you're about to type might cause offence is to ask yourself, if I said this to someone face-to-face would I earn myself a punch on the nose? If yes, rephrase. +1 You can be passionate about something without being abusive. He had a point to make but he made a choice to take the low road. I hope he can resist the urge next time. Good advice for anyone, Jim.

Not sure if it's of any interest to know who's and who's not on Siggi's ignore list.... but since apparently it's a matter of interest, who am I to decide... If you have the nerve to do so please be so kind as post your self as the poster. Otherwise where will it stop... Master These are the 2 (TWO!) posts by this man so far in a thread he didn't create himself and the "some people" of are frothing about the mouth and almost calling for death by drawing and quartering. Get a life! 1 "Welcome to my ignore list. Bye!" 2 "With the greatest of pleasure" Master 1
Rama Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 If you have the nerve to do so please be so kind as post your self as the poster. Otherwise where will it stop... I explained exactly what I did in post #8 of this thread. The thread show Siggi as "owner" since his post is the first written in the chronology, that's how the forum works when post are moved from one place to another. So this isn't a question of "nerve" but of forum feature. ... so your moral admonition is based on nothing (and that's quite usual on forums that peoples start to throw such kind of grief at each others while having only partial information and supposing other's behavior... if people only think they don't know for sure other's intention and then would be carefull in their judgement, most of the inflamatory threads wouldn't exist). Now, the purpose of this thread was only to remove off-topic posts in a thread and place them in a more appropriate place (supposing there is a place for them). It wasn't to create a special "Siggi's bashing" thread. Seems to me we have the demonstration that these moved post have no place on this forum.... and in the future, if I see posts talking about ignore lists (from ignore lists owner or members), these posts will be removed. If people, for whatever obscure reason, want to tell others about their position in their ignore lists, PM are the way. Now locking this one.
