giftgruen Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 (edited) Hello. Playing SinglePlayer Careers only I ound some smaller topics that should make SP careers more funny and are probably not very expensive / complicated to implement. Some proposals that imho could give a better user experience without needing a doubled development team .-) - Beeing injured: At the moment this means only 3-4 days lost This should be variable ( randomized ) so getting injured is a higher "risk" for the career - Failing Parachutes: At the moment you can jump out without any risk. 1st - imho a parachute should be an option that costs weight 2nd - the should be a ( small?) risk that the parachute doesn't open - Mechanical failures: An engine outage or a stuttering engine should occur from time to time, in WW1 for sure these things were not 100% reliable - engine power bandwith: engine power could vary in a range 80..100% to get a "damned - I have such a bad plane today" effect - mission type "lone wolfe" = "do what you want to" - only after having an offficer rank or at least having a specific number of kills - mission type attack airfield ( with a starting bandit flight ) - mission type airfield under attack ( with a starting while bandits are already starting an attack ) - mission type patrol frontline ( flying "forth and back for some time " without a specific target ) .... And, yes, in general a better AI - but I understand that this is NOT so easy to implement ..... but here some "easy" (?) options - a bandit flight that is clearly outnumbered could maybe try to run away in panic ( "return to base" command ) - team mates if your own flight is clearly outnumbered could maybe try to run away in panic ( "return to base" command ) - a bandit that is heavily hit could run away or even land in panic ( means: good for mission but no kill ) and not fight until end Edited June 19, 2023 by giftgruen 1
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 19, 2023 1CGS Posted June 19, 2023 Lone Patrol missions are/were in ROF's career mode, so hopefully they'll resurface here at some point.
KG3_Trozz Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I also play offline mostly and enjoy career mode a lot, but it is just too easy to rack up a big score. I get most of the kills even when i try to let my wingies kill them. 5 - 7 kills each mission w a Alb D II, i am not that good. I would suggest also that careers begin with the player flying as observer and only scores made from that position count towards career score along with mission success. The player can begin gaining rank and move up to pilot (2 seater)taking score from front firing guns and mission success, continuing to gain rank until eventually transferring to a fighter squadron as top sgt or leutenant. I think this would help keep the ridiculously high career scores down a bit and also be quasi historically correct
alexmark77 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Career mode wishes: 1. Display a table of downed aircraft on the "Pilot" information tab in Career with this order: date, pilot's squadron, pilot's aircraft, type of downed aircraft, nationality of downed aircraft (as a country flag), squadron of downed aircraft, victory location (as a map square name). For example: No. 1. 09/03/1916 Jasta 2 Halberstadt D.II Nieuport XI (French flag) Squadron N48 square 09065 No. 2. 09/05/1916 Jasta 2 Halberstadt D.II Nieuport XVII (French flag) Squadron N3 square 09037 and so on... 2. In the game algorithm, if possible, separate the downing of an aircraft and its crash. Currently, the message "Airplane SomeType was shot down by player JohnDoe" appears when the shot down aircraft is still in the air, but it can fall to the ground quite far from the place of the shootdown. The meaning of the division: if the fall occurred on enemy territory, then it is entered into the player's account with a certain probability. Victories that did not pass the probability check are marked in the pilot's victory table (see item 1) as "u/c" - unconfirmed and are not taken into account when calculating the receipt of awards and titles. The place of victory is marked in the victory table by the place of the fall. 3. Keep and continue player's victory table if player transfers to another squadron. Edited February 23 by alexmark77
1CGS LukeFF Posted February 24 1CGS Posted February 24 You aren't going to see any more significant changes to the GUI at this point in FC & GB's development. As we detailed in our last video, it's based on Scaleform, and that is old tech that is being dropped in favor of Noesis.
Dr1falcon500 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Good luck with seeing any changes to career mode. Lone patrol was said to be going to be introduced when I asked about it some time back. Seems it just in the wind now, like a lot of other changes.

Given that there are still updates to come to FC there is always a chance it will be added.
