Ability to Search Forums?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Greetings:

My name is Rex and I'm relatively new (I bought IL-2 last week), and I've been trying to learn what I can in the forums.  I've had quite a few questions, but before posting a new thread, I usually try to do a search to see if it's already been answered.

Unfortunately, this strategy is not working out too well for me, because there's kind of an art to search, and I usually have to refine the results a bit.   Alas, something is happening where I'm only allowed to search one time, and the subsequent times it tells me that I have to wait 50 seconds, or some other random amount, which makes for some really slow progress.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?  Or is it possibly a limitation because I'm new?  I do block ads pretty aggressively, so perhaps this is the culprit?

Is there any way to be able to search at-will, or is this an intentional limitation?

FYI, I am using the search box at the top right, the one in the same row as "Browse All", "Rules", etc.

Thanks!

This is normal. I do not think it is anything to do with you. A lot of websites do this (I suspect it is a reaction to bots).

You can try doing a google search and adding "site:https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/" as part of what you are searching for. That is what I often do.

It is a trick to get google to only provide results from one website.

You can try this link: site:https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/ - Google Search
