Strange Spitfire XIV Throttle Behaviour

Hi everyone,

 

I'm new to IL-2. I'm playing Normandy version.

 

I'm not sure if this is nomal or not, but when I fly the Spitfire XIV the throttle seems to change itself to the extent that if I increase the throttle it doesn't change. I thought I might be burning out the engine by flying in 'Emergency' mode, so I try to keep it at around 75% for 'Combat' mode.  

 

Is this behaviour normal or and I doing something wrong?

What difficulty settings are you using? If you select automatic engine management (and some of the other settings) it can cause the AI to limit the throttle under some circumstances.

Thanks for your reply.

 

I use the 'Normal' Realism setting. I'll look into the further settings, thanks for your suggestion.

 

The strange thing is, When I fly the Hurricance on the same realism setting, the throttle doesn't behave in this manner.

I edited the custom settings and it fixed the problem - thanks!

 

Trouble is I'm probably burning out my engine now! ?
