Formation Fying IL-2GB

Hi all,

 

I notice that in IL-2 GB we are only entitled to 4 types of flight formation:

- Trail formation

- Vic Formation

- Echelon Left and Right Formation.  

 

It is a pity that other flight formations very common among Germans and English are not present in the simulator!  

This is the Finger Four formation used since the Spanish Civil War by the Germans and taken over by the English after the Battle of Britain.

 

Among the allies, a Squadron could be composed of 2, 3 or 4 formations of 4 aircraft in Finger Four formation.  The Germans called this formation of 4 planes a Schwarm.  4 Schwarms made up a Staffeln:

The Royal Air Force also used the Fluid Six Formation towards the end of the war:
