Have been using this same stick for 2 years but since last update , it does not work in IL2.

it is recognized in windows and works in other games.

All my other controllers work.

I renamed devices file and no change.

Renamed Input folder and no change either.

Any ideas?

Same problem here it doesn't see my throttle Virpil mongoost-50. My
Virpil joystick is fine.  I have deleted the entire input folder contents and let Il2 reconstruct it.

I had just installed Vjoy for DCS and thought it had to do with that conflicting somehow.

I uninstalled IL2, re installed it, and still joystick not recognized in game, also the old commands were there again.

Which other folder do I need to delete?

What do you mean by renaming the devices.cfg and input.cfg?  Did you give them another name or REM them and let the sim create band new files?  Devices.cfg would probably be the culprit.  Input.cfg file would not have much to do with it.  When I've come up wth a problem like that I usually find the devices.cfg has too many devices listed or duplicate devices.  Also, check that the Input device in the in-game sim settings didn't accidently get changed to mouse.  Strange that a complete re-install left the same input.cfg active.  You may have already done this, but I would make a copy of the devices.txt and then delete the original and let the sim create a new one.  If that works you'll have to re-do your controls settings as the numbering of the devices usually gets changed.

I had installed vjoy to use in DCS. When I loaded IL2 after the first time. I was told a new device was seen "Vjoy" and asked if I wanted to move binding from old device I.E. Virpil Throttle. I thought I chose no but the throttle has not been recognized since. I even deleted the vjoy line in devices.cfg. After rebooting the Game Vjoy was back. But no Throttle

Me thinks you both mean devices.txt;

Mine with a warthog set and Saitek pedals reads:

-----

configId,guid,model|

0,%224a105c60-a26b-11ed-0000545345440c80%22,Joystick%20-%20HOTAS%20Warthog|

1,%224a0fe730-a26b-11ed-0000545345440980%22,Throttle%20-%20HOTAS%20Warthog|

2,%2287399db0-ebed-11ed-0000545345440580%22,Flight%20Rudder%20Pedals|

3,%2257b01cd0-f8d7-11ed-0000545345440280%22,vJoy%20Device

-----------------------------------

the 0, 1, 2 ,3 stands for the ID numbers IL2 recognizes.

PS-  I had a test running with vjoy, but i de-installed it.

Yep, I was just getting ready to correct that comment.  Devices is a .txt file not .cfg.  That's usually the problem area.  I reiterate, save the devices.txt and re-start the sim, actually I would re-boot and then re-start the sim just to clear things. Then check the devices.txt to see if the Virpil joystick is listed.  How many devices do you have in your current devices.txt?  I don't believe it can exceed 8 or something will not function.

Also, I still have vJoy in my list although I'm not using it.  Doesn't seem to hurt anything.

Ok thanks I will try that. And  I would have 9 with Vjoy. Maybe that's my problem. I hadn't heard you couldn't exceed 8

Me neither. But a solution can be when devices can be grouped into one device called Thrustmaster Combined.

The Thrustmaster software Target will group multiple devices I do not know the upper limit (I use three, but there is provision to add multiple more if recognized and connected) into one unique device which becomes a unique line in the device.txt file. And the devices get also grouped in Win11 with one combined peripheral in addition to the separate ones.

The only constraint here is that it will recognize only Thrustmaster peripherals. But maybe Virpil or others do something similar.
