Hello and good morning!

As relativly "new" pilot here in the il-2 sim i wondered why there is no such thing as the easy mission generator for multiplayer (as maybe some otheres before) -

so far i saw external tools to create missions and save them to start those in MP but... that only shows its possible :)

And maaaaaaaaaybe its not THAT hard to implement this functionality into the sim so it can just be setup on the fly?

For sure i am not the only one asking for this but.... hey... as long as people ask for it there is a chance that this could become true!

 

beside this: AMAZING SIM!!! DCS-only before and yes DCS is cool but this as a ww2 combat-sim in VR - holy sh... it is awesome.

EMG works fine. I've used EMG to create co-ops for PVE for both local and dedicated server hosting. I believe the dogfight mode will service PVP as well as providing more dynamic join in progress co-ops. 

 

Also, and no lesser by any means PWCG creates co-op and PVP campaigns and single missions as well

thank you for all that information - i appreciate that! :)

and now lets ask all together if we can have those great tools implemented into the il-2 program - as easy to use like the singleplayer mission editor :)

Well, "implementing" a program "into" another is just not possible, really :)

Well, integrating would be a better word choice, but I think we all knew what was meant.

 

Integration to varying degrees is certainly possible.  PWCG for RoF was integrated to some degree.  The integration was clumsy, but a lot of people liked it. 

 

In each of these cases the external party would need an API that would allow us to invoke GB with command line parameters that caused it to directly fly a mission, or an PC call that could be used on an already running GB instance.  The former would be very clumsy as it implies restarting GB for every mission, which is ugly and time consuming given GB's long start times.

 

TBH, it's not going to happen.  The dev team has other things to do.  I never quite understood why alt-tabbing was a big deal, but that's just me.  Using PWCG, you can start both PWCG and GB, generate a mission in PWCG, alt-tab to GB, go to missions, fly it, alt tab to PWCG for the AAR, repeat.  The alt-tab is about as fast as changing a screen in the GB menu.

Thank you Mr. Wilson,

exactly understood what i tried to say. And i also understand that devs HAVE TO focus their effords on those things which brings cash and therefor butter onto the bread.

me doing some alt-tabbing will not keep me from having fun with this.

and thanks for that realy nice campaign generator! - should be integrated just to honor that work :)

Wow, I never thought to alt-tab to go to PWCG to report and start a new mission.  I always exited the sim.  I'll be doing that from now on.
