Panzerlang Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 So this is what I get when I try to fire up IL2 with Open Composite active. It's not bothered me because the game runs so well with SteamVR but I know the Pimax Crystal is going to require OpenXR, so time to get it working I guess. I'm pretty sure I have an older Open Composite API installed, so maybe that's the issue? I have no idea where to get the stock API (I probably saved it somewhere but it's long gone/lost). Any help gratefully received. I should add, this is running the Pico4 through Virtual Desktop.

Pico doesn't support OpenXR natively (without SteamVR), so you won't really get much of an improvement, unless you use aggressive upscaling, which AFAIK the newer version of Virtual Desktop does better anyway. If you really insist, you can see the instructions on my website on how to get it to work on Pico anyways: https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/opencomposite.html#alternative-the-per-game-install 1
Guest Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) The couple of guys I watch on youtube with the Crystal say they get significantly more fps using OpenXR. I read that stuff on your link about an hour ago and tried the direct install of the api, it just generated a bunch more error-boxes. I'll leave it now until I get my Crystal. Thanks for the info dude. Edited June 6, 2023 by Hetzer-JG51
