So I guess this is why the Quest Pro had to be gotten out the door last year.

That price point and battery life though.

It’s a no for me.

As described it is a unique device with no competition. It will sell!

Can't play games on it, so no thanks.

Certainly it will be possible to play games on the Apple HMD, but there are many potential other applications that could be designed for it. That's what the WWDC is designed to encourage.

Do you think we can convince Tim to remove the lidar, the passthrough cameras, some expensive chips to reduce price to around 1000$ and put a DP connector to play PCVR games.....  ?

The thing I like most is the compact design and the confort (as it looks). They invested well on that.

I am also interested in knowing the FOV, it looks like it is not bad.

I mean its not for me because of the price ? but I'm glad apple has put VR back in the spot light

This is Apple obviously trying to muscle in on the Sinclair C5 market!

This is their first new product in how long?

I can only think that Apples ouija board connection to Steve Jobs must have been playing up. The timeline with how these things play out means in 2025 high-level heads at Apple will roll.

Apple benefits already from the Quest Pro release last year. That device so underperformed for its' price that the Vision Pro already looks a much better value proposition by comparison. No doubt it will influence direction of future AR/VR offerings.

According to reviewers it feels quite heavy and you better take it off after half an hour or so.

IMHO That much smaller "bigscreen" HMD looks far more inviting to me than this !
