Solved - Translator Subtitle Issues

Has anyone noticed recently subtitles are not always being displayed? I have a mission with a counter and when it fires the subtitle does not appear, although a check zone activated by the same counter works fine. Later on in the mission I have a check zone that activates a few ships and also a subtitle. The ships spawn correctly, but again the subtitle fails to display. Other subtitles in the mission work as intended. I've tried deleting them and adding them back in. I've tried the mission resave function and still the problem is present.

Double check your subtitle settings obviously.

 

You need to make a simple test mission with subtitles fired of in 1 second intervals. Then place this same group and test in a complex mission perhaps.

 

I’ve not seen this but doesn’t mean something hasn’t popped up.

Thanks Gambit! I'll play around some more with the mission. The strange thing is some of them work fine, and some others do not display, but then this is the FME we are talking about.

Ok, got it sorted. I had forgotten that the text in the subtitle is in HTML, and I used an "&" which caused the error.

Were you able to display a subtitle ampersand? I'm not saying that conventional encoding won't be accepted, but I had this problem in ROF server descriptions, and the only solution that I could get to work was encoding the encoding:

 

If there's no simpler way, %26#38%3B will work.

I just left it using "and". If I understand correctly "&amp" should display the ampersand. Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try.
